"We are all Londoners" for the National Pensioners Convention

Fat beehive films were recommended to Dot Gibson at the National Pensioners Convention by Crisis to complete a DVD project celebrating the diversity of the pensioner community in London.

Filming took place over a number of months and covered a wide range of pensioner activities from the Italian Elders Lunch Club in Tottenham to the lobbying of Parliament for better pensioner rights.

The press screening took place at Portcullis House hosted by Sadiq Khan MP, who also took part in the film. The main screening was in The Camden Centre to over 500 pensioner many of whom are featured in the film.

"Fat Beehive was recommended to us when we were in a tight spot because our original film-maker was ill. We could not have asked for anything better. It was a pleasure working with them; they were as enthusiastic and interested in the subject as we were. They were patient, friendly, good-humoured and spent time (beyond the call of duty!) helping us amateurs understand the processes. The final DVD is excellent and has given pleasure and empowerment already to hundreds of pensioners."
